Dying dog gives a man a new lease on life.
A dog named Thanos was diagnosed with cancer. The cancer spread through his head and this caused a huge tumour to grow in his head. Sadly, because of his condition, Thanos has been rejected by four families who simply couldn’t take care of him due to his condition.
However, Luciano Karosas, a 21-year-old man of Berazategui, Argentina, saw Thanos as the best puppy he could take care of and so he adopted Thanos irrespective of his physical and medical condition. The reason Karosas did this, was to show Thanos unconditional love and care on what during his final days. Seeing all the rejection Thanos faced earlier on. Karosas explained that the hardest part of adopting Thanos, was not his condition, but the fact that he had very little time with Thanos, but he is its that the time spent would be worth it. Thanos was sent to the vet and was met with some bad news. He had only 40 days to live. The vet explained that there was no treatment available to extend his life.
The news broke Karosas heart. He had always known that adopting Thanos will ultimately break his heart, but he was somewhat optimistic that there was something that could be done to at least reduce the effect of the cancer. Speaking about the heartbreaking news, Karosas explained to Portal Amigo Cao saying, “I came out with a piece of my heart in my hand”, an indication that while he is somewhat prepared for the worst, he is discretely hoping for the best.
Thanos however, acts like there is no cancer. The only giveaway is the tumour in his head. He plays and acts like a very healthy dog and he is happier than he has ever been. Karoses however recently started applying cannabis oil on Thanos’s head in efforts to save Thanos’s life and he has been seeing results. This has given Karoses a renewed hope.
Karoses is not ashamed of Thanos’ swelling. He never fails to post about their adventures on Instagram. He is taking the advice the vet gave to him – to engage Thanos like he would a regular dog and he is seeing great results. ‘There is still Thanos for quite a while’ Karosas says. We hope that Thanos snaps back to health (no pun intended).
